Question

Is it normal to feel despondent and forlorn whereas you're on the Way? I frequently feel separate from the world because of a great internal confusion and fears that bother me and keep me off the present moment. I'm sometimes feel I'm going mad. . .

Answer from Master Kosen

It's better to think you're mad. Everybody thinks he's normal, whereas most people are at least mini-lunatics, or even maxi-lunatics. If you think you're a little mad, you're on the way of being cured.

The whole world is under pressure, threats are great, everybody's talking about crisis. This makes us feel deeply unsecure; the whole world is actually mad. Large corporations such as Total don't pay any taxes and want to drag us into a war with Syria, that we, the middle class, will have to pay through ever heavier taxes. Such corporations participate in murders to make unscrupulous billionaires even richer. This is madness.

Yes, we're mad, even Zen masters such as me are completely mad. Not to speak of Zen Masters who think they are the standard of normality and stink of satori.
