Question

I would like to know if you have heard about the work of the anthropologist Carlos Castaneda. It caught my attention to discover some similarities with Zen

Answer from Master Kosen

Yes. We know about it. There are similarities, yes, regarding different practices.
In Zen, the practice is Zazen, to sit in front of the wall in the position of the Buddha, in loto. To let one's thoughts go by and concentrate exclusively in observing oneself, observing one's breathing. This is the method to discover onself.
In the practice of Carlos Castaneda's Magical Passes, or Tensegrity, you develop the awareness of onself through the Art of Stalking, the Art of Dreamming and fundamentally, "The Recapitulation".

The interesting thing is not to know about these practices. What matters is to practice them.

Master, do you believe that the way of Zen is the only way which conducts to the realization of the self or to the spiritual freedom ?

Merci Denis Blondeau
