Let's start this year 2019 wishing you all a happy new year, good health, good practice!

Autumn 2018

Here is the news of the various achievements and projects that were completed this last autumn 2018:

- thermal insulation of the house was improved during  two weekends of samu

- thermal insulation of the dojo and refectory have been somewhat improved

- the famous lead pipe of the far bottom building has been changed

- we  have acquired a small greenhouse to increase production and variety of the vegetable garden

- the corridor and sanitary facilities of our dear Master's apartment have been repainted

- the necessary paperwork and planning for the improvements to be carried out to the far bottom building are now in the hands of an architect whom we know. They shall be submitted to City Hall in February, once the architect gets back to us.

- Tree planting is scheduled for the end of winter. A young and very small organic cosmetics company located in the Drôme, Lamazuna, has agreed to financially support our project.

Projects 2019

The Council of the Elders met during the Winter camp to determine the 2019 projects.

Preparation of sesshins

A new organization is being set up to improve the preparation of sesshins. Each Godo directing a sesshin will be in charge of choosing the responsible for samu and the tenzo. The tenzo will have to find one or more people in charge of buying and receiving the necessary food orders. These people can either arrive the day before or on the morning of the sesshin arrival day.

If other people wish to join in the preparation of the sesshin, they are most welcome and they should inform us of their intentions either when registering or by phoning Ingrid Gyuji Igelnick, the head of the temple.

(A fuse should be provided for meals before the sesshin.)

Inscriptions

Everyone should be reminded that for a smoother organization, inscriptions have to be completed at least 15 days prior to each sesshin (although exceptions may be allowed in the case of booked places for a sesshin being released at the last minute).

Furthermore, the arrival time for a sesshin is previewed for the evening of the day before, from 18hs onwards, time when the samu begins.

Samu from April 13th to April 28th

A samu week has been programmed prior to the Easter sesshin: samu from April 13 to April 28

A certain number of tasks and small jobs will be carried out in preparation for the big sesshin with Master Kosen.

It will also be the time to clear the undergrowth, cut the grass and prepare the vegetable garden.

Sesshin with Master Kosen from May 30 to June 2, 2019

The big event of this Spring is the sesshin with Master Kosen from May 30 to June 2, 2019 on the occasion of his 50 years of practice and 10 years of the temple.

The number of places is limited to 130 people; do not delay your registration.

The monk without homeDiscover the inalienable life Which is without going and coming, That is the practice of the Way. Then you will reach the true vision And your ego will not be a transitory self But an eternal self. As long as we do not wake up to that, It is useless to be born in this world.
