Founded in 1999, the Paris Zen Dojo is a simple, quiet and friendly place. It was founded by the zen nun Josy Thibaut.

An early disciple of master Taisen Deshimaru, then of his successor, Master Kosen, Josy has been practicing the silent sitting meditation more than 30 years. She taught the zazen practice with great compassion, especially to beginners.

The nuns, monks and practitioners trained by Josy, continued in the spirit of openness, simplicity, dynamism that was his, and after his disappearance in July 2017, to practice zazen but also to transmit the teaching of master Kosen.

The sunday morning, practitioners find themselves in the tranquility of a pretty courtyard in the 6th arrondissement of Paris between the Odeon and Saint-Michel stations.

On the days and times shown below, the Dojo is opened for the practice of Zazen. Zazen lasts around an hour and a half. We ask you to arrive 10 minutes in advance to prepare yourself for Zazen.
