Question
I am strongly drawn on one hand to the modern world and all its material and intellectual pleasures, and on the other to the search for awakening. Should I consider that I am not ready to follow the Way? Or is this attraction to pleasures “normal” and one of the obstacles on the Way, as though my ego were trying every means to turn me away from it?

Why always set things against one another? Why should the modern world and its material and intellectual pleasures conflict with awakening? Why should the Way be so boring?
