All donations are welcome to help our association share the practice of Zen Buddhism.
In Buddhism, giving (fuse in Japanese) is a selfless practice, done without expecting anything in return. It is simply giving from the heart, as illustrated by the story of Bodhidharma arriving in China and answering “no merit” to the emperor who had built many temples in the hope of gaining some spiritual benefit.
Your donations help support the association’s activities and the life of our groups, dojos, and temples, where everyone has the opportunity to practice Zen meditation (zazen) and follow the authentic teaching of Zen Buddhism.
How to make a donation
We offer four options: credit or debit card, PayPal, IBAN bank transfer, or check.
Please note that some of the payment methods below are limited depending on the country you are in; see the instructions below.
By credit or debit card
Works in all countries.
It’s just like making an online purchase with a credit card: quick and secure.
You don’t need to create a PayPal account. Once you are on the payment page, make sure you click the “Donate with Debit or Credit Card” button and not “Donate with PayPal”. See the detailed instructions below.
Donate by credit or debit card
Step by step:
- On the page opened by the button above, if none of the suggested amounts suits you, click “Other” and enter an amount.
- Then select the second button, “Donate with Debit or Credit Card”.
- Click ”+ Add a note” if you want to specify what the donation is for, so that it goes where it should or is recorded correctly. For example, you can write “zazoom”, or “Kosenshinji” for the temple in Cuba.
- Fill in all the requested information, especially your email address, since you will receive a donation confirmation. Do not check the “Save this info for next time” box; otherwise, the system will ask you to create a PayPal account, which needlessly complicates things.
- At the end, you will probably need to confirm the payment with your bank, as you do when making an online purchase, whether through your banking app, a code sent by text message, or some other method.
With PayPal
Works in all countries.
An option if you already have a PayPal account; otherwise, we don’t recommend it. It’s the same page as for card payments, but you just need to click “Donate with PayPal”.

IBAN bank transfer
Works only in Europe (SEPA zone). From outside this zone, you may be charged fairly high fees, so we recommend using one of the other methods instead.
For security reasons, we do not display the IBAN here, but if you already have it (for example, if you paid for a retreat on-site), you can send us a donation this way at any time. Remember to mention in the transfer reference that it is a donation.
By check
Checks drawn on a French bank only.
If you don’t want to or can’t donate online, you can also donate by check, made payable to “ABZD”, and sent to the following address:
