Question
When I did zazen for the first time, I could say: This is it, this is exactly what I was looking for!!!
When I began practicing zazen, I read nothing about Zen for a year. I only wanted to practice with my body. I attended sesshins, did zazen, did samu, ate genmai, and listened to the godo. That was all.
Now I am learning all these stories about Japanese Zen, the AZI, and Deshimaru’s disciples who are our masters today, and I wonder whether it is our human condition that always ends up creating swampy sects out of the purest water.
I am a lay practitioner… How can I find my master?
