Question
Oh, Kosen, of course slaves are free to remain slaves IF THEY LIKE IT.
But when you say people are so free that they can even AFFORD THE LUXURY of PLAYING at believing they aren’t!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know people who REALLY SUFFER: countries at war, famines, cancers. Of course, Kosen, fundamentally, ultimately, every moment is the right moment and every day is the right day, so all is well even in those situations. But what if people don’t know it? What do I do? Do I act or not?
And even in apparently less serious situations, no war, no famine, no cancer… there are people suffering because of the same problem: whatever happens and wherever they are, everything is wrong for them.
So the question is: if I am inwardly free, everything around me becomes free, and yet, Sensei, no—look at the world… So how can I share my experience… speak or not speak, act or not act, not keep my fist closed, you know!

Answer from Master Kosen
The way of the Buddhas is a solitary path; it is not a path lived within social consciousness.
If we nevertheless travel or work within that social consciousness, it is solely to inform and give those we can reach the chance to discover within themselves this solitary path of the free and divine mind, which is ours. Once revealed, this spark of consciousness is enough to change the very reality of our everyday world.
