Question
Dear Master Kosen:
I greatly appreciated your answer about Zen in politics. I would like to ask you a few follow-up questions. Thank you in advance for the time you devote to answering them, if you find them appropriate.
If Zen seems able to influence today’s social policies in positive and innovative ways (referring to your earlier answer on the subject), is the same true of politics’ influence on Zen?
Let me explain…
Are there deviations in Zen due to its internal politics?
Is there an authentic form of politics within Zen?
And, if you wish:
In this regard, what do you think of Nicolas Sarkozy?
Do you vote when you have the opportunity?
Thank you very much. I am burning with impatience to read your answers.
Congratulations on your website.

Answer from Master Kosen
“Are there deviations in Zen due to its internal politics?”
Yes.
”Is there an authentic form of politics within Zen?”
I do not have much faith in that. It is very dangerous, but we cannot avoid politics when managing certain things.
”In this regard, what do you think of Nicolas Sarkozy?”
I would rather not think about it. If his motivation were truly humanistic and not driven by the desire to win at what he believes is a game, what use would being a cuckold be to him? (Unlucky in love, lucky at cards—a cuckold’s luck.)
But in the end, the French are not going to vote for a cuckold, even if he is top of his class.
In the end, I am not very gifted at politics.
”Do you vote when you have the opportunity?”
Now, we must vote.
