Question
If there is no awakening, and every possible practice will never erase human karma, as the Buddha said, and life is only an illusion, then what is the point of caring for this body and keeping it alive when it has no use, serves no purpose, and is more of a pain in the ass than anything else? Why prolong a state that will inevitably end badly anyway? I find myself wondering whether suicide is the solution, since no one will die anyway: "just an illusion, barely a sensation..."

Absolutely.
The solutions are simple: the world economy complains that even by injecting more and more money, it cannot restore growth.
Of course, it gives that money to banks, when it should be given to the people. Then healthy growth would certainly resume immediately.
I advocate for everyone: a citizen's income equal to the minimum wage, and a pill allowing them to end their life whenever they wish, under good conditions.
This would solve, at least in part, the problems of poverty and overpopulation.
