What is this center that constantly comments? This center that keeps a kind of inner ledger, classifying our actions as good or bad? This center that constantly justifies, condemns, and judges? This center that labels each of our thoughts and actions and never stops commenting? This center that maintains our self-image and preserves it against all odds? This center that welcomes joy as well as sadness, calm as well as anger? This center that manufactures time and lives by comparing yesterday with tomorrow? Does this center monopolize the entire brain? And is that all thought is for?
