Question
There is no God but God.
When I question myself, it is God questioning God. God questions God and God answers God: you are God… There is no God but God! When I question you, it is God questioning God, and God answers God: “You are God… There is no God but God!” When I question my Muslim brothers, it is God questioning God, and God answers God: “You are God… There is no God but God!” When my Muslim brothers question me, it is God questioning God, and the God who is my Muslim brother answers, “There is no God but God!”
“God is God. There is no God but God. Only God.” That is why I can question myself, question you, Master Kosen, question them, and they can question me too. God can take every form, every face, since God is not someone, not something. So yes, my brothers, I question God directly, and only God, and God answers me directly: the ant answers me, the mountains, rivers, trees, children—everything answers me: there is no God but God.
Zazen is God meeting God, Allah meeting Allah, Buddha meeting Buddha.
When God meets God, when God looks at God… what does he see? God! One God! Not two. One God.
Thank you for answering me, Master Kosen.
ANSWER: A person who practices the Way subtly stands beyond words and thoughts. Immediately authentic, they are on the true path and attach to no reasoning.
Master Wanshi Zenji.
That is exactly what I felt as I wrote you that first message. That is why, dissatisfied, I wrote a second, a little closer to what I felt. But here is what I really felt:
When Buddha meets Buddha, when Buddha looks at Buddha, what does he see? Buddha. Nothing to add, nothing to take away. The obvious.

Answer from Master Kosen
God cannot meet God, because there is no God but God.
But when he meets someone like you, he thinks she would do better to shut her trap and her emotions, and practice silently.
