Question

The problem with questions is that the answer appears only once we have let go of the question, perfectly “mushotoku.” Then the answer is no longer of interest. Koan… Did I have a question?

Answer from Master Kosen

Likewise, we obtain the object of our desires when we have forgotten our desire; we find what we lost when we stop looking for it. What is the point? But you can also enjoy this special moment of desire not yet satisfied, or a question not yet resolved, by becoming aware of all the magic of this instant. Realize that it contains within itself the potential happiness of the answer, and consider that when you have the opportunity to satisfy your desire, its intensity may no longer be the same.
Becoming aware of this subject-object ambiguity is the starting point of the path that leads us to understanding the true nature of mind.
