Question
Master:
About three years ago, I experienced satori as a result of my practice and my complete honesty with myself. At a certain point in my life, I began to ask myself why I practiced. I wanted to understand what the ego, life, and spirit were… Thousands of answers came to mind, all of them learned from books, people, documentaries… I awakened when I realized that none of them was my answer, my practice… Then I stopped identifying with them, and at that precise instant the answer arose from the depths of my being, outside time and space, beyond thought. At that moment I stopped practicing. I cannot understand the process that led me not to continue, since it nourished me like nothing else in my life. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever experienced. Fortunately, I have now resumed zazen. My question is this: what makes people go through that process and then not continue?

If they do not continue, they go no deeper.
