Once again, that wonderful unity...

Question

Today, sitting in zazen and reciting the Hannya Haramita Shingyo sutra, at one point, just for an instant and without expecting it, I became aware that it was not just me reciting the sutra, but that the sutra was being recited… We do not recite the sutra; rather, the sutra is recited in all of us at the same time. And as I listened to the bell and drum, suddenly my voice disappeared. I only felt that the sutra
of great wisdom was “reciting me”—once again, that wonderful unity… It was not 10 practitioners reciting the sutra, but the sutra reciting itself in everyone… It is difficult to explain that feeling; in fact, it cannot be explained in words… But I wanted to know whether this is what you were explaining to me the other day in relation to the question I had asked…??

Very good. If you sit well, it is even better. Stop thinking and practice zazen without illusion.
