If I am only an illusion, should I understand this as “me,” the Buddha?
The inner master I am supposed to discover? (Often the answer to our
questions lies in the question itself…)

The Buddha is not separate from illusion, but is free of it. It is up to you to choose whether to identify with illusion or freedom.
