Lack of surrender

Question

I have been practicing zazen regularly since 2000, though not very intensively (once
a week). Since that year I have attended the summer camp in Argentina, generally
for one session. I am 44 years old. I always considered myself very healthy
until two years ago, when I started having severe lower back pain. I like
the practice very much and feel very committed, but, though I know it may seem
contradictory, it is becoming more and more difficult physically (even though
I practice yoga). Throughout my early years of practice, I was sure that
as time went on it would become easier, but it is
completely the opposite. New pains and difficulties appear that I did not have
at the beginning. At times I tell myself that these are simply fears, a lack of surrender,
but at other times I become afraid that I am injuring myself. The professionals
I have consulted do not exactly encourage me to practice, as one might expect.
Can you give me any advice to help me get over this obstacle?

Answer from Master Kosen

I have studied Chinese medicine a great deal: acupuncture, shiatsu, spinal manipulation, and it makes me happy to heal people when I can, but without seeing the person it is a little complicated.

Forgive me. See you later.
