Question
Hello,
A black belt in karate and Wing Tsun, I attended zazen sessions
in Lyon a few years ago.
I live in Saint-Tropez and regularly practice alone. My questions are:
- Should breathing be only abdominal or more complete during
zazen (as in yoga)?
- How much time should I devote to zazen daily? I practice early in the morning,
at 6:00 a.m., before physical exercise (cardio, stretching,
strength training), karate practice (kata repetitions), and
flexibility work.
Currently, I practice for 15 minutes daily.
Related to this question, do you think it is more appropriate to do zazen first
thing in the morning after washing, or after my morning routine
described above, which lasts one hour including zazen?
Thank you for your answer.

You must find out for yourself what is good for you. The way you are doing it seems excellent to me.
