Question
Last night I went to the Zen dojo in my town, Bernay in Eure, department 27, for the first time, and practiced zazen for the first time. I have some difficulty understanding the notion of the “self” to which I should no longer attach importance. Even now I find it hard to express… could you explain?
Thank you very much for your answer.

What I have always liked about Zen is that you do not have to be intelligent or educated to understand it.
Do not worry about the “self.” Concentrate on the important points of the posture, sit upright, and breathe calmly. Avoid moving or following your thoughts, but let them pass, as a mountain lets clouds pass across the sky.
Good luck.
