Question
A very wise friend of mine tells me: "Do not look for something; everything is here. There is no way to choose. You just have to live with what you are, with as much joy and simplicity as you can. Everything else amounts to hot air."
This sounds good to me, but I still feel a need for a practice, an anchor, a framework, and thus, a way.
Does one always have to choose one and stick to it if it feels right, or simply greet life with awareness, as simply as possible?

There is no point in selecting a way; the way is everywhere, in everything. We agree about that. However, if you want to begin a discipline and go further, you have to persevere and make an effort. Whether in a spiritual discipline or simply a professional direction, it is the same: it must be a true vocation, and you have to concentrate on it to achieve a result that goes beyond the superficial.
