Question
HELLO, BÁRBARA. MY QUESTION IS FOR YOU, BECAUSE I MAY GO TO THE SESSHIN YOU ARE ORGANIZING IN CÁCERES IN DECEMBER. I PRACTICE ZAZEN DAILY, BUT ALWAYS ALONE AND WITHOUT ANY GUIDANCE, WHICH IS WHY I WANT TO GO TO A SESSHIN. DO I NEED TO TAKE AN INTRODUCTORY ZAZEN COURSE TO ATTEND THAT SESSHIN? OR IS MY DESIRE TO GO ENOUGH?
I ASK BECAUSE I AM ONLY A BEGINNER…
Javier
Answer from Master Kosen
You can go straight to a sesshin. It is a good introduction, and it is necessary when you practice alone.
ALSO, WHAT IS THE KATSUMYAKU?
The katsumyaku is the certificate of lineage between a master and a disciple.
