Question
I have read many times that body and mind are not two. Whether I understand it or not, I respect it without expecting to truly understand it—that is, in zazen.
I understand well that phenomena are no different from emptiness, and emptiness no different from phenomena. I understand this before zazen, with the mind full of things, desires, thoughts, blah blah blah; during zazen, without rejecting these things and finally with a little silence and stillness; and after zazen, the phenomena return. To ask my question I have to be a little dualistic: how are we to understand that the body is emptiness??? Is the point of stillness the answer??
Thank you very much.
