Question

Here I am again, Ms. X… Manipulation has won… The man and the woman discussed the possibility of the three of us meeting. The woman refused. Without even having met me, she claims that I am a bad person who “wants her place,” and she is “relieved” that the man and I have broken up… She says a romantic relationship is nothing but “desire, passion, and therefore, according to the Buddha… destruction,” that to him I am “like cigarettes: addictive and toxic.” She “refuses to let me near her children”… I do not even know what she is basing all this hatred toward me on. Can Buddhist wisdom be based on denying love? The man has given up. “He is giving up the fight and resigning himself to living without a relationship, without sex, without any plans other than raising the children.” Those are his own words… He has lost the breath of life that once animated him. According to her, the reason is that he went astray in thinking being in love could make him happy… As for me: sleeplessness, nightmares, a knot of anxiety in my throat, isolation, loss of appetite, and dark, very dark thoughts…
This woman was supposed to be a nun full of compassion… She has destroyed (at least) two lives to “keep her place”… I have my answer now: I know who is selfish.
How can I keep believing in anything after this?
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
