Zen nun Véronique Harruis has practiced at the Montpellier Zen dojo since its founding, alongside Master Kosen. In 1980, she moved to Paris to study with Master Deshimaru, who gave her bodhisattva ordination in 1981.
She later traveled and practiced at various Zen dojos in Europe and Argentina. She also taught kesa sewing for several years at La Gendronnière Temple.
In 1993, she followed Master Kosen when he left La Gendronnière to establish his own Sangha. She remained close to him and supported his mission until his death in 2025.
Having shared responsibility for the Montpellier Zen dojo for several years, she remains faithful to Master Kosen’s teachings and is dedicated to introducing others to Zen practice and passing on the spirit of zazen.
Alongside her Zen practice, Véronique is passionate about theater. In 2006, she founded her puppet theater company, “Les Marrons Show.”
Sewing also plays an important role in her life. She makes zafus, zabuton, kesa, rakusu, and more.
