Question
I recently rediscovered Zen and found peace in it, because I had attempted suicide due to unemployment, but I have been serene again for three years. I practiced Nichiren Buddhism. It helped me, but I want to practice Zen again.
Can I still do five minutes of MAM MYOHO RENGUE KYO and practice Zen too, or are they incompatible?
Nichiren was harsh toward the Zen schools, but I think we have to put him in context. It is true that after chanting daimoku, MAM MYOHO RENGUE KYO, I feel vitality, but I don’t have the peace zazen gives me.

Answer from Master Kosen
Master Dogen himself said the Lotus Sutra (MAM MYOHO RENGUE KYO) was the emperor of sutras. He recited it often.
