Question
Dear Master,
I recently came across Maharshi’s teaching. To the question “Do gods exist?“
he answers, “Yes, within you, like your own body.” He is asked again, “Then
are they only ideas, something I can control and invoke?” Maharshi replies, “Like
everything around you.”
This was like running into an incomprehensible wall.
Suddenly lightning struck. Beyond words and images, I saw it: My God!
I am the creator of the world. It has always been this way. I have always created the world in
my own image and to my own measure!
The brain uses karma, genetic makeup, personality,
experiences, and so on, and with them creates reality. This reality is born of me. This
reality and I are one. I am responsible for it, and I am free within it. So much
freedom and responsibility is a little frightening. This reality is unique and
unrepeatable, unlike any other. With so many possibilities, the combinations are
infinite…
Master, if the brain creates reality, who or what creates the brain? Is there a
reality independent of the brain? If so, who experiences that reality,
and how is it possible to know?
Thank you.

Your divine dimension created the brain to express itself in the biological and material world.
