Question
What do you think of vegetarianism and not eating animals? Many people argue that human beings are omnivores and that many animals in nature hunt for food. Others believe that, unlike these animals, human beings have an ethical consciousness that allows them to feel compassion for the suffering of other beings. The first view may be anthropocentric, as if humans were the kings of the universe and everything were at our disposal to feed and clothe us. Yet perhaps those who argue that these are the laws of nature are right. What do you think about this?

Answer from Master Kosen
I think it would be better to gradually reduce the meat in our diet, without fanaticism, but quietly let it go. It would be better for many reasons: ecological, health-related, and ethical.
