Question
Hello,
Why is the chain of transmission so important (as in all spiritual traditions, actually—I'm thinking particularly of Sufism)? Does it have to do with initiation as described by René Guénon? Also, if you know Guénon, Schuon, etc., what do you think of their theories? Personally, I see truth in them: the methods proposed by religions differ, but not the foundation.
Thank you, in any case.

Only a century ago, every trade was still transmitted from master to disciple, whether cooking or stonemasonry.
It was a transmission as practical as it was spiritual, and it allowed you to continue your life with confidence and assurance as the heir to a tradition.
