Question
To me, Taoism—I mean Lao Tzu’s Taoism, not a religion mystified by its own rites—and Zen have the same essence. They are like two views of the same thing: Taoism as the study of the universe and humanity’s harmonious place in the whole, and Zen as
the human being’s inner experience within that macrocosm. Do you agree? If not, what is your view of their relationship? Thank you.

Answer from Master Kosen
This is a subject that interests me, since I have also studied Taoism through the teaching of Leong Kokuen, a great master of Chinese medicine, as well as Zee Chin, a master of roua gong, and Mantak Chia and some of his assistants.
For me, there is no difference between Zen and Tao.
