Question

Why do so few people practice and value zazen when zazen can change humanity's karma?

Thank you.

Answer from Master Kosen

We are born into a reality that matches our evolution and karma, then during our lives we have opportunities that allow us to evolve. Zazen is one of them.

After a few decades of practice, we realize we would be ready to experience something else. But this "something else" exists only in your dreams and interests no one. The world seems to have progressed more slowly and less fundamentally than we have, and above all in an entirely different direction.

However much we spread the message and use every device to convince people of their divine nature and that nature is divine, they don't believe it, don't have time, and aren't interested. Society continues on the inertia of our birth karma.

The Buddhist Great Vehicle wants to save all existences. You can see that saving oneself alone is unbearable. What should we do?

It's a koan, as Master Deshimaru put it so well.
