Reality is outside any center

Question

In zazen, we work on the posture, which promotes a certain “balance” of body-mind. But reality is outside any center. Why conceptualize this center? Why represent it through the body? And why direct thought toward this center? Can the mind-body relationship be something other than this center?

Answer from Master Kosen

If your reality is off-center, that is a great pity for you and for others, because then you cannot change anything in your reality.
Find your center beyond the body and the limited personality.
Your center is what we call God.
Yes, it is nothing other than that.
