Others' lack of understanding in social life

Question

In daily life I am a rather solitary person, living almost
ascetically. I am single.
I try to understand and practice Zen teachings, but every day I run into
others’ lack of understanding, socially,
within my family, and at work.
When I try to communicate, I realize others are not at all
on the same wavelength, which reinforces my idea of following my path alone.
Yet I am very tolerant, and my respect for others is
deep. Perhaps I am not meant to be solitary, and yet it is my
greatest freedom.
So how can I stop thinking too much about others when that is all
I have to do? These thoughts lead to my questions and doubts.
Your answer may illuminate my mind. Many thanks.
