Question
Hello, and thank you for your teaching.
I greatly enjoy reading the mondos on your website, and now a question comes to my own mind: in a mondo, should the student’s question arise from “cortical” activity and therefore genuinely expect an answer, or should it come from elsewhere, a little out of nowhere, and thus have a “mushotoku” character?
Ultimately, is it necessary to ask the question? Can it dissolve within the student without being expressed, finding its answer within?
Words are sometimes very small, but sometimes immense. Is speech a necessary form of practice?
