Question
Hello Master,
I would like to draw your attention to a very recent phenomenon in France: the growing strength of a new kind of populism, at a considerably higher cultural level than its traditional version, tinged with "Christian" spirituality, economically "Marxist," and using an unprecedented means of dissemination—the internet. All this serves an ideology advocating, among other things, leaving Europe, restoring a hierarchical, patriarchal society, and uniting the most radical Muslims and Christians against the modern world... Understanding the whole is supposedly guaranteed by a single explanatory principle: the universal guilt of "Jews" for all the ills afflicting the modern world...
In short, my question is: what do you think of Alain Soral?
This question seems important today because, on one hand, the spread of this discourse is becoming incredibly powerful, especially among young people: 15 million views for this man's online videos, website traffic higher than Télérama's, media omnipresence, growing influence among elites and the most disadvantaged alike, etc. On the other hand, its unprecedented level of complexity certainly calls for thorough examination.
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Best regards.

I know relatively little about Alain Soral. The problem is that he is very intelligent, and some of what he says makes sense and is even interesting.
The most worrying problem is neither his intelligence nor his charisma, but his support for the National Front. In my view it is a populist, racist party with no serious platform, criticizing Europe while profiting from it and keeping its seats in the European Parliament. We live under the rule of disinformation, manipulation, and conflation. One might think Le Pen supporters and the far right are kept in place as guardrails to prevent the majority from wanting to leave the pro-European quagmire without being called racist, antisemitic, and fascist.
The notions of right and left no longer mean anything today.
They belong to the past.
To me, the European Union is a vast, ungovernable scam that has ruined our agriculture, industry, and social rights through unjust but unavoidable laws dictated by lobbies solely for their own benefit. It will force GMOs, shale gas, and American wars on us and bleed us dry, and we will be unable to do anything because all this is legal under European law. But of course it is illegal under national law and common sense, especially since the French voted against this European constitution that was imposed on them anyway.
I think this, yet I am not right-wing. I simply support resistance, as the National Council of the Resistance did in its time, with a range of every French political tendency, right and left together, who nevertheless agreed in the face of widespread collaboration for the country's salvation and future. Hitler, too, advocated a greater Europe, and the resistance fighters were dirty terrorists.
Now nationalism is harshly criticized and caricatured by supporters of a new world order. But before joining together, everyone would do better to be strong and independent. Then each could give their best to a European or world team instead of sinking into a community of losers and collaborators, slaves to the new dictatorship of money.
