Question
Good evening, Master.
Last night, for the first time, I practiced zazen at home. I managed to relax and felt fairly calm. After a while, I went to bed and had the worst nightmare of my life. I dreamed I was lost in a very white, very beautiful place I did not know. Despite its beauty, I felt in danger. Men I could not really see were chasing me, and a police officer helped me, but it later turned out he wanted to hold me captive. What interested me in this nightmare was the feeling of fear, anxiety, and despair I experienced... My question is: is this dream connected to the practice I did? Is it bad to try meditation without a master's guidance?
While waiting for your answer, thank you in advance for the attention you give this message.

Do not worry. You only released a little of your subconscious, and your apprehension about meditation expressed itself in your dreams. That said, the practice is not dangerous if the posture is correct. It is therefore better to learn the basics—posture, breathing, and the attitude of mind—before practicing alone.
