Question

First, allow me to introduce myself: my name is William, and I am African. I learned about Buddhism through a friend, and I cannot tell you how many wonders it has brought me. But since then, I have faced many questions that may have led me to you.

Question 1: after the Four Noble Truths, I tried to understand the meaning of Mahayana (the cycle of the absence of characteristics). My question is: is this capacity for self-knowledge what keeps us from being on the right path?

Thank you, great master, and sorry to trouble you.
