Is there any risk to the legs in lotus posture? Sébastien

Question

Hello, I sit in lotus posture, and after half an hour, when I uncross my legs, I feel as if blood had stopped circulating in them. Is there a risk here that if we hold the posture too long, tissues no longer receive blood and die? During the posture, it does not really hurt much, but after a while my feet tingle, grow hot, and disappear, so to speak. My question is physiological: is there a risk to the legs? Thank you very much. Sébastien.

Answer from Master Kosen

Do not be afraid! Buddhas have practiced and had pins and needles in their legs for 10,000 years, and… if they bother you that much, cut them off!
