If tomorrow all men became Zen monks and all women Zen nuns, out of love for humanity, monks and nuns would have to reproduce to continue the human species, wouldn’t they?
Wouldn’t it be a dilemma for a spiritual master to have to give himself over to sexual practice to save humanity from extinction, and to the duty of working to support a household and raise children?
