Does the master remember the dojo in Cuba? Why doesn’t he come or send a senior practitioner? If someone desperate came to you asking to be cleansed of their sins, what would you do?

We never give the same answers hypothetically as in a real situation. Sometimes we imagine a situation: he would say this, I would answer that… and when life puts us in that situation, it never unfolds as we imagined. That is the sense in which we say Zen is not intellectual; it is real.
