I wonder why no one ever corrects my posture

Question

First, thank you for answering my question during the live mondo, and congratulations on the e-symposium. It was really great… We want
more!!!

I have another question about “teaching methods” in a dojo:

I practice zazen at an AZI dojo, and I wonder why my posture is never corrected, even though in half lotus I sometimes have a knee that doesn’t touch the floor (I try to fix it, but have never been told how), or why no one has ever explained anything
about breathing during zazen… Is that normal?
In other words, is it part of Zen teaching to explain nothing at first and then refine things as practice develops, or have I simply ended up in the wrong place?

Keeping in mind that it is practically the only Zen dojo where I live.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Answer from Master Kosen

In principle, dojos offer introductory sessions where the posture is properly explained. If not, ask the person in charge of the dojo; I don’t think they will refuse to explain it. In any case, it has been a long time since I was welcome at AZI dojos, and I don’t really know what goes on there.
