Question
Dear Stéphane,
I have just read your answer. Obviously, I could reply again, but I would rather tell you that you will be invited to the June 8–10, 2007 symposium at La Gendronnière, where we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Sensei’s establishment of Soto Zen in Europe. We can continue this discussion there, which will allow useful clarification. Just one point: Harada has been replaced by Imamura Roshi, who loves Sensei very much and does not ask us to change the way we chant the sutras. If some people do so, that is their free choice, not mine.
All the best with your gyoji.
Warmly,
Roland

Answer from Master Kosen
Dearest Roland, forgive my vehemence, but you know that if we met more often—not just you and me, but me and all my old companions in practice—it would put a little honey in the milk, as Sensei advised.
Thank you for the invitation. I will work on bringing material about the Zen of the future and will gladly take part.
You have the last word, and it is a word of love, as everyone wishes. Long live true Zen. On that subject, go see the Argentine film called “The Buddha of Buenos Aires.”
Thank you, and see you soon.
