Question
Hello, Stéphane! I have a problem that arose after the Moissac sesshin
with you (in 2007): I can no longer maintain a stable posture, even though
I have practiced for several years. I have to adjust it
constantly, which bothers me a lot because I disturb others. I do not
understand what is happening to me, and I am worried. Can you reassure me?
I hope I can practice again as I did before.

You must learn that in zazen we should not intervene with the body through little supposedly corrective movements because there is tension here or a sensation there. We must simply stop paying attention to the body and let it act naturally, without intervening in any way—as they say, don’t even give it a second thought.
Second, we must keep our eyes open, closing them only rarely, for no more than a minute, to calm the mind if necessary.
