Question
I am raising my three-year-old daughter alone; I am alone. I did some training while working in 2008, and my return to the company in 2009 was a disaster. Today I no longer have a job, though I have worked on my thesis, which I have to defend in December, and completed a skills assessment. Today I feel at the end of my rope. I no longer feel like playing with my daughter, have very few friends, feel truly alone, and have lost interest in everything… except eating whatever I can get my hands on. How can I regain confidence in myself and see the future in a better light? Thank you.

Listen, I don’t know what to do to help you, although I understand your situation very well. All I can offer you is my friendship. Write to me whenever you want, whatever you want, and I will answer—not to tell you what to do, but simply as a friend who listens and responds.
