Question
How is it that you were the only one who refused to attend Harada’s sesshin, while all Master Deshimaru’s other disciples went, knowing he criticized and envied their master?
Emmanuelle
Answer from Master Kosen
I do not know what the others did, but for my part, when I was told who would lead it, I could not contemplate anything other than not going. Afterward I forgot the Sotoshu, and they forgot me too.
But I recently learned they changed masters at the last moment and someone else replaced him to lead that sesshin. No doubt Harada was afraid of Deshimaru’s disciples.
