Question
Dear Stéphane, dear Master,
I heard that your health is not at its best right now, and I wanted to send you this little message of support. Do not despair: moving from good health to a state people call "diminished" offers an immense opportunity to discover the true strength within you. From an oak, you can become a reed: what a magnificent transformation! (But like any transformation, as we know, it brings its share of pain.) Do not despair. Trust the wisdom within you, and you will emerge even stronger. Of course, I do not mean physical, outward strength, but the true strength hidden deep within every living being.
When I was dying of pain—I came within a hair's breadth of death before receiving a spinal cord stimulator in 2021 and, in 2022, an above-knee amputation that allowed me to live again without heavy-duty painkillers—I decided to follow the example of the old walnut tree in front of my house. It was completely rotten inside and in terrible shape, but every spring it still produced a few leaves and, later, two or three walnuts. So I firmly decided that I too would keep producing my "five leaves and three walnuts," right to the end and with joy! Because life is always beautiful, whatever it looks like on the outside. May the force be with you! _/\_ Leen
