Question
Could you please correct or confirm my understanding? Thank you in advance. From the unawareness due to the karma from which we arise, through practice without any interest in gain, we would gradually come to the awareness that we are the knowledge of our actions. This gradually leads to the fading of the conditioned self in favor of the impersonal SELF. In daily life, this takes the form of fresh, right actions because of our lack of self-interest, free from judgments of good or bad. The egocentric self fades in favor of the SELF. In other words, we would move from reactions caused by karma to unconscious, disinterested action, as opposed to unawareness. All questions about other worlds, other universes, and so on, however interesting, have no transformative value in the process of stripping away the self. And someone who practices with the intention of improving the egocentric self may meditate for years but will not break through their egocentric vision or attain the SELF. Regards.
