Destroying thoughts

Question

When we meditate (or even when we don't), we see thoughts passing through our consciousness connected to objects or places (a road, room, house, town, country, etc.) that do not belong to us. For example, there have been many suicides in the village where I am currently staying, and I can see these thought-forms from people who died by suicide passing through again and again.

Although I do not identify with them, I am nevertheless aware of these thoughts.

Can we hope to see them disappear?

Can thought-forms be destroyed?

Is there a method for doing so?

Thank you for giving me a little of your time to answer this.

Neither follow nor reject; let them pass.
