Choices and decisions

Question

Master Kosen,

How can we be sure we are making good decisions, making the right choice, when we feel torn between two things?...
Because fear can distort our intuition? And sometimes intuition can also arise from fear...?

I often hesitate over little things. But also over more important things that will have a greater impact on my life.
Yesterday, this led me to back out of an experience living abroad. I am not sure whether it was intuition that kept me from wanting to go or just the fear of not being ready. That would be a shame, because although I had been told the city was not great for young people, and I did not initially have a good feeling about it, other things seemed good for me. Anyway.

I am not quite sure what my inner self was telling me.
And this morning I am wondering whether my body was actually reacting to the fear of making a choice, making a decision, and nothing else.
Even though I may have another opportunity to go in a different way (which confuses me even more), I wonder whether I did the right thing, whether I listened to myself or to my fears. Or whether the problem is simply that I do not yet know how to listen to myself. And be responsible. And that I need to learn to be.

Anyway, I am telling you this because if you can say anything to help me see more clearly, I would appreciate it. I hope that if this is posted, it will help others.

Lisa

Answer from Master Kosen

Following your intuition means feeling happy and confident. If you have even the slightest foreboding, do not force yourself, unless the situation leaves you no choice. In that case, give yourself every chance by concentrating especially hard and taking all the necessary precautions to ward off or face any possible harm.
