Question
I feel a little ridiculous asking a question like this here.
I have never been shy—quite the opposite. However, a few years ago I began blushing and sweating in the middle of a conversation, for example. I blush even more when I notice the other person looking at me strangely, sensing something is wrong. This happens with people I know and meet on the street, not strangers.
It is my greatest fear when I walk down the street, so much so that I try not to meet anyone and even hide to avoid suffering. It keeps me from being happy because I like having many friends and acquaintances, and I cannot do that being like this. Now it is getting worse and happens even with my mother. She asked an innocent question, and I began blushing. She asked what was wrong, and I said nothing, blushing even more and dying inside. It is unbearable. I need help. You cannot imagine how many things I do not do because of this problem.
I could consult a psychologist, who would certainly cure this phobia, but I feel the problem is deeper. I think they would not cure it at the root.
Could you say a few words about this, even very simple words? Even if you reply only to say “hello.”

There is no shame in doing psychological work to resolve a small problem that bothers you.
A brief therapy such as Ericksonian hypnosis can cure the problem in a few weeks and open doors to discovering yourself.
