Awakening?

Question

First, thank you for answering my previous questions, but I think I expressed myself poorly. What really bothers me is when you say that zazen is awakening, that zazen is the natural state of being. I understand that you do not want your disciples to expect anything other than what is already
present, but this can be misunderstood, especially in a film shown online: it may seem cultish. Personally, I think awakening is the cause of zazen, not the other way around. I do not believe in gradual development, but in directly seeing what is, and that is uncompromising. That said, I deeply respect your work and wish you and your disciples success. Expressions are many, but the cause is one.
Warmly,
Suharta

P.S. I do not abuse Master Ganga, just as I hope you do not abuse Master Deshimaru!

Answer from Master Kosen

First, I completely agree that awakening precedes practice. Dogen himself says we must practice from awakening. It is good that you understand this. That said, it does not change the fact that zazen is the posture of awakening, the perfect posture, the optimal wave of the human form that automatically tunes us to… call it what you will.
And precisely, zazen is the direct and immediate vision of awakening.

As for Master Ganja, that was a double entendre. Do you know what ganja is?
